Join Argosy Events and our guest of honour, Professor Gaston Nguerekata for our annual drinks party. Networking and socialising apart, this event represents a very significant opportunity for you and your company to establish a contact at a senior political level in a country which has huge economic potential and is currently seeking UK assistance.
Please book your place now to avoid disappointment later.
Professor Gaston Nguerekata is a senior and highly respected politician from the Central African Republic (CAR) and heads his own political party with 4 deputies in the National Assembly. He is a former presidential candidate, and remains very active in the political affairs of his country. He currently divides his time between Africa and his academic career in the US at Morgan State University, Baltimore where he is a professor of mathematics.
As you will be aware CAR is currently verging on failed state status despite its huge economic potential. This includes mining, oil and gas, agriculture, timber, eco tourism, marine services, and telecommunications. The country is seeking to move away from its reliance on its Francophone linkages and is looking to the UK for assistance and investment. The successful UK support to Rwanda has been noticed and is seen as a possible model for CAR’s political and economic development.
The evening will not however, be just about business and you will be able to relax and network over drinks and canapés as we are entertained by a piper – in full ceremonial uniform – from the London Scottish Regiment.
